OUR MISSION
The early success of Two Boots can be traced to a slew of small miracles: we inherited a beautiful space with terrazo floors and spinning counter seats from the old Red Lantern; sourced gorgeous vintage decor, like nail-head chairs from The Bowery and pink and green laminate from a black market formica dealer; Doris created an amazing collage counter filled with local artifacts; great artists like George Schneeman, Julie Wilson and Beck Underwood blessed us with their work; and we had a devoted Hall of Fame staff including Lynn Loflin, Santo Fazio, Mark Kirby, Kevin Karam, Jesse Hartman, Janet Henry, Emily Spray, Marilyn Gold, Darya Panesoff, Lisa Bowman, Mary Hebert, Jessica Gandolf and the pearl-diving poet, Joseph "Slima" Williams -- all grooving to what the Village Voice hailed as NYC's Best Juke Box. And most importantly, our Cajun-Italian cooking -- inspired by Sally's in New Haven, Patsy's in East Harlem and Mosca's in New Orleans -- brought joy to the community.
Through the years, Two Boots has grown with locations all across the country, served pizza at festivals like Summerstage and Gathering of the Vibes, in places from Prospect Park to Citi Field, and had ancillary businesses including The Pioneer Theater, Two Boots Video and the Den of Cin. Wherever we go, we bring our unique cornmeal crust pizza, funky folk art, and a deep commitment to the community. Pizza is a universal language, transcending geographic and demographic boundaries of every kind -- we look forward to sharing a pie with you soon, too!
